Speedy Fox & Friends challenge 96 and DRS Designs Easter Blessings

Good Saturday! I hope that everyone is enjoying their weekend. My card today features DRS Designs new releases: Daffodil Butterfly Circle and the greeting Easter Blessings. I stamped the image in noir black and used pearlescent watercolors to color the entire image. I embossed the blue, pink and olive with a dotted ef, added some daffodil ribbon and we'll call it finished!

My second card is for Speedy Fox's challenge to use lace on our creations. I LOVE MFP's a Heinrich Co.'s lace! This is just one of the many kinds that they have. I stamped the teapot from the February release, Relax a bit and cut out and put on dimensionals. It is colored with watercolor crayons. I thought this flower from MFP's went very well with this image. A spiral notebook punch and the word window punch were used as well. I love this dp from My Mind's Eye called Miss Caroline. It goes great with this stamp set!

DRS Designs Thursday Challenge & SCS WT363

Happy Thursday....so close to the weekend!

My card today was done for two challenges...DRS Designs Thursday challenge is to use tags in our creations and the ways to use is (WT363) over on SCS is to bring on the buttons....I brought one! I used the fun new polka dot flower image, polka dot bg and As another year flies by greeting. All available for purchase over at DRS Designs. I punched the tag and then stamped the image in black and used smooch paints to color it. I added some lime green smooch around the edge of the sentiment, too.

My card features a single dogwood blossom on a branch today and the sentiment is from this set as well. I could play with coloring/painting up these flowers all day! I used some bright yellow smooch paint to high light the petals, bright green smooch on the leaves...I cut and popped up the blossom. The center was filled with gold domes...so hard to photograph. BG dp-Lime rickey. All papers and embellies from MFP's a Heinrich Co.

Here's a card I posted for the ways to use it challenge on SCS yesterday to use border punches. Again, all papers and ribbon from MFP's...though hard to see, the center of the flowers is brown glitter.

My card today features this fun bunny and I decided to minimally color the image...I added sage shadow to the soft suede stamped image and then some glitter that matches the sage. It is hard to see. A touch of cameo coral on his nose. The papers are from MFP's a Heinrich Co. and are Bo bunny Gabrielle Collection, snow storm smooth, hazel nut tan and then cameo coral. Some beautiful lace and a stick pin from MFP's. The "blessings" is stamped right on the dp.

DRS DESIGNS Challenge 12

Happy Thursday!!!! The challenge over at DRS Designs is to concentrate on the sentiment only....I chose to showcase DRS Designs Apache Blessing. I stamped it in black on vanilla cardstock and then using a sticky note, I masked off the sand and sun. I sponged bashful blue on for the water/sky, used a marker to edge the water from sand and sponged night of navy around the edge. The sand was sponged in with crumb cake. Using craft cardstock, I embossed it with a night of navy inked lattice ef. Sponging around the edge of embossed piece as well and some bashful blue ribbon to finish it off. I am also submitting this to the color challenge-CC362 on Splitcoaststampers.

My card today features this regal wolf. I stamped him in soft suede and dragged the cream paper through sage shadow...dusty durango, some old dp and a few (I hope) manly embellishments. I find guy cards so hard to do and am super happy with this set as it is quite masculine.

My card today features the teacup from Relax a Bit. I cut and paper pieced the cup and then the rose. I used Basic Grey Urban Prairie and added some butterflies with a MS punch. Some gold gems and pleated ribbon help to finish it off.

With Faith...And a shaped card for MFP's a Heinrich Co.

Good morning to everyone in blogland! Guess what? Colorado got more snow......Now all of the old stuff looks new again!

My card today features DRS Designs Daffodil Butterfly Circle and the beautiful Impossible Faith Greeting. The background was done with the large original plaid background. I decided to go bright and colored the main image with blender pen and a daffodil delight marker, wild wasabi for the green and the butterfly was done with purple and wild wasabi. The plaid was stamped with daffodil delight and only orange. A pretty ribbon for the finishing touch! Hop on over to the store for some terrific new images.

My second card was made for Speedy Fox and friends challenge 94 over on MFP's a Heinrich Co. blog. Our challenge for this week is to make a shaped card. Okay, I admit, this isn't something I normally do but I DID have fun doing it. I started with a 4 1/4" square card and cut a flower shape with the fold at the top. I sneaked MFP's a Heinrich Co. Dogwood Blossoms. The sentiment is from that set as well. The blossom was water colored with pearlescent water colors. Green embroidery thread was used to attach the tag and the blossom is popped on dimensionals. The pool party card was sponged with baja breeze and then laid directly onto the stamp pad.

DRS Designs, Thurs. Challenge #11-make your own paper

The challenge over at DRS Designs today is to make your own patterned paper. This worked well as I need to make some boy-type Valentine's creations for some neighbors. I stamped the star in versamark and embossed in white. The image and sentiment were stamped in chocolate chip and a bit of crumb cake was added to the rocket. The rocket was layered on kraft and popped up. Some embroidery thread added to finish it off.

DRS Designs Thursday Challenge #10-birthdays

My card today is for the Thursday challenge over at DRS Designs. This week we are to make a birthday card. I used a soon to be released image....flowers and butterflies and a portion of the Sunny Days birthday greeting. The remainder of the sentiment is inside..."for sunny days and happy times! Have a wonderful day!" In addition, I used Vicki's versatile bg on the bottom of the image. The lavendar layer was stamped with the silhouette butterfly background and I stamped the little bitsy bumble bee for fun. The images were stamped in noir black and painted with pearlescent watercolors. I added a few marina mist MS punched butterflies and a couple of square rhinestones at the bottom of the image and used the spiral notebook punch on one side for interest.

Happy Sunday!

My card today was made for two challenges. The SCS QFTD97 challenge and it is none other than a fellow designer Toni...aka ravengirl on SCS. What a great gallery she has over there! Also, I made this for Speedy Fox's challenge #92 over on MFP's blog to make a 4 layer card. I used the beautiful stamp set A Trip to Lancaster and Cosmo Cricket's Wanted dp. The base of the card is aged sunflower. I ran the dp through the cuttlebug with the vintage wallpaper dp. All papers from MFP's a Heinrich Co. A couple ribbon tabs, a hat charm sewn to the ribbon tab and a brad finish it off.

DRS Designs Thursday Challenge #9-hearts

I had fun creating this card. I did a 4 1/4 x 9" card for something different and once all was said and done, I opted not to put any embellies on it. I stamped DRS Designs fly away hearts and flowers in versamark and embossed them in black. Next, I used some new smooch paints to color them. The flower centers are green but difficult to see here. I stamped the silhouette believe butterfly on white and cut it out (which you can't tell either!). Lastly, I used a spritzer tool and tempting turqouise marker to add some color and then a sponge around the edges.

I stamped my black eyed susan heart randomly and used pearlescent watercolors for flowers and the white space. Cropped the corners and added this gorgeous lace from MFP's a Heinrich Co., covered a kraft tag in going gray ink and stamped the sentiment in craft white ink. My card today is showcasing the black eyed susan image from this fun set. Yes, I am a rebel and didn't use tradional colors! These are two of my most favorite colors. I used Basic Grey sweet threads dp....I started with the image and then chose my colors....which in turn, led to the color of the flower which I painted with pearlescent watercolors and added glitter for flower center. I glued the two pieces of dp together and then ran through cuttlebug. Some lace, gems by the sentiment and a stick pin with the addition of beads finish it off.

A Snowman Valentine

My card today was made for DRS Designs Thursday Challenge #8-to make a card with a snowman. I am on a Valentine roll and I think this sweet Heart Swag Snowman is the perfect match for a Snowman Valentine. For the sentiment, I used the Stacked Love and cut the letters out so they could be side by side and fit on the card (5.25 square). I colored with markers in lovely lilac, light lilac, bashful blue, pretty in pink, red smooch for the hat and scarf. The background was done with the Interlocking heart bg and then dry embossed with the lattice folder. Some red ribbon and we'll call it good!

My card today features Love Remains and I had such fun creating this. I stamped the roses on 180 LB cardstock from MFP's a Heinrich Co. and then watercolored with ink and an aquapainter in ruby red, going gray and basic gray. I added some red smooch for high-lighting. Next, I cut them out, punced the big rose to match up with the gray scalloped circle I punched and then popped the two single roses up on dimensionals. The sentiment was stamped in basic gray. This Authentique paper pad-Uncommon was the perfect choice! The ribbon was added for interest....all supplies from MFP's a Heinrich Co.

A Treat For you!

My card today just makes me smile! Leonard is so cute, isn't he? All stamps are from DRS Designs and includes Leonard Pig rose offering, interlocking heart bg and A treat for you greeting. I stamped Leonard on white cardstock and colored him with pretty in pink and rose red. The flowers were painted with red smooch. Next, I punched him out with a scallop circle punch and added a black and rose red one as well. Using grandma's lightest pink, I used markers to color the interlocking heart bg in pretty in pink, rose red and real red. Seam binding, a courduroy button, embroidery thread, a tag with the sentiment and one paper pieced heart at bottom of Leonard were added. I using the pinking shears heart punch for the edge.

DRS Designs Thursday Challenge #7

Paper Piecing

Almost the weekend! Yippee. This has been a long week and I am looking forward to the weekend. My card today was made for the Thursday challenge over at DRS Designs-today it is paper piecing. I stamped their cute picnic basket and paper pieced the bread, leaf and towel. I stamped Vicki's versatile bg vertically and horizontally on the sage layer. I decided to use the funny "Don't make me unfriend you" as I will put inside............so come to dinner with me. Some twill tape and black brads finish it off.

Ink: burnt umber, more mustard, cherry cobbler, poppy parade, gray, river rock, crumb cake, not quite navy (sponged on)

Papers: poppy parade, sage, black, hazel nut tan, vanilla

Embellies: brads, oval punch, twill tape, dimensionals

Speedy Fox and Friends Challenge 89

Good day! The challenge this week with Speedy Fox is to use brads or eyelets. I decided on some brushed silver brads for the "rope" and to place by the sentiment. This is a sneak peek of a great set Cowgirls Rule by MFP's a Heinrich Co. It will be released next week. I stamped the image in burnt umber and colored with pacific point, crumb cake, close to cocoa, sage shadow and some sponging done as well. I don't recall the dp as it was given to me by a friend. Challenge #6 at DRS Designs: Spotlighting

Good morning and Happy New Year! My post today is for DRS Designs challenge #6 which is to do spotlighting. I thought it might be interesting to use a silhouette stamp so I used DRS Designs slow moving moose stamped in noir black and then high-lighted with burnt umber.....the moose was punched with a 1 3/8" circle punch and put on a dimensional. The metallic copper layer was dry embossed. The hazel nut tan layer was stamped with Vicki's versatile bg and the sentiment was also lightly stamped with it. The one line greeting sending you happy thoughts was stamped in black and cut funky on purposed and dragged edges through burnt umber pad. DRS Designs Challenge #5: Snowflakes

Good morning and welcome to the 5th challenge for Thursday over at DRS Designs! Their challenge today is to use snowflakes. I did a quick card as I have company coming from out of state. Dry embossed the textured teal layer with the snowflake folder and using the 4 in 1 snowflakes, stamped one snowflake in craft ink and embossed in white. The vertical thinking of you was stamped in bermuda bay. The white snowflake is on dimensionals and a few rhinestones were added to finish it off. Looks prettier IRL! CAS for FOSTV and SCS WT354

I made this card today for two challenges. SCS WT is to use a digi image. I don't own any so I computer generated the little sentiment and flowers on the oval. The other challenge is for FOSTV challenge 12 a CAS card. I used the brand new set from MFP's a Heinrich Co. Winter Crocus.....lovely set. I colored it up with pearlescent watercolors and used a strip of Cosmo Crickets Wanted dp.

DRS Designs Thursday Challenge #4: heat embossing

My card today features DRS Designs Three wisemen peacke image 504K and their woven plaid background stamp 613P. Our challenge on this busy Thursday before Christmas is to heat emboss. The image was inked up with craft so saffron and craft choco chip and clear embossed. I then sponged the sky with a combo of brocade blue and not quite navy. The sand was sponged in with sahara sand. The plaid was stamped in not quite navy and sahara sand. White, not quite navy and hazel nut tan papers used and it was finished off with my favorite lace! DRS Designs Red, Green and white Challenge

My card today is for DRS designs Thursday challenge. Today it is to use green, red and white on our creations. I chose the Bootprints in the snow for my main image and the snow background on my always artichoke layer. I stamped the main image in burnt umber and then colored a bit of the trees in with always artichoke. The smoke was colored in with light gray, the sky done with a sponge in not quite navy and the snow on trees and foreground was painted on with champagne shimmer paint. I sponged the edges with cherry cobbler and it was sponged a bit thicker on the bottom. Cherry cobbler seam binding for the ribbon and I used a portion of the Silent Night sheet music for my sentiment. A tiny bit of red smooch was painted onto the trees. The main image was put on dimensionals. Papers: white, always artichoke and cherry cobbler.

DRS Designs Thursday Challenge #2 polka dots

Happy day! DRS Designs has started a challenge for Thursdays and this week it is to use polka dots. Go check it out here along with the other designers cards. I used the polka dot background and then the main image was stamped more than once with the triple tree with snow in noir black. Sponged in the sky with soft sky and then bermuda bay was sponge daubered on the trees and around the edges. A scallop circle punch to cut the image out and layered with bermuda bay and black. Lastly ribbon, a couple of glittered snowflakes and glitter added for the snow.

Happy December to everyone! It is my pleasure to be posting for DRS Designs today where there are lots of wonderful images to help you create some beautiful things for the holidays~

My card today features our pinecone image 506K and the Happy Holidays greeting 515C. I stamped the sentiment in brown, punched it out and smeared red ink around the edge...and layered with another punched oval in old olive. All vanilla, brown and old olive layers embossed with the lattice folder. Main image fussy cut to add interest. Image stamped in brown, colored with close to cocoa, crumb cake, old olive and berries added with smooch. Second layer was stamped with our pine bough 467K and done in the same fashion. Some simple red ribbon and I call it good!

The race is on! Quite honestly, I am not much for the "race", the hustle and bustle of the holidays....especially as I get older! I made this for the free for all challenge over on SCS which was to make a black Christmas/wintery card for black Friday. I used DRS Designs Tree Line border 981P and the greeting portion of Traveling Afar 501K. I stamped the trees and sentiment in versamark and embossed in white. Some little snowflakes punched and clear rhinestones added, an edge punch and some lace...........

Take time and breathe! That is what I keep telling myself!!!

I stamped my image in gray, sponged in brocade blue for the frozen stream and then added crystal effects to achieve the look. Flower soft was added to the trees.

Apache Blessing

Happy Saturday! I hope everyone is settling in for a wonderful Thanksgiving week! It is by far my favorite holiday and I enjoy this time to just be GRATEFUL. Grateful for all of the people in my life and for my life!

My card today features a new greeting from DRS Designs called Apache Blessing and the image is the Silhouette Hiker. I stamped the images in black and brayered the colors on in the following order: from the top I used summer sun cameo coral and pink passion. From the bottom, I brayered a bit of pink passion. I had masked the sun....so removed the masked and sponged in summer sun. I brayered summer sun and cameo coral on the sentiment and both were sponged around the edges with black. I finished it off with a photo corner, yellow and pink twine and a few buttons.

Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge #81 Our favorite technique

Hello to everyone in blogland! I have been a wee bit absent for a while as I've been busy visiting potential colleges with my daughter. It is nice to be back!

My cards today were done for Speedy's challenge this week that can be found over on the MFP's blogspot. It is to make a card using our favorite technique. I would have to say that one of my most favoritest (haha...not a word) techniques is to use pearlescent watercolors in my creations. I cleaned my craft room last week and am trying to use up some things. I came across some mulberry paper and decided to paint on it with pearlescent watercolors. I stamped both images in noir black and then watercolored them. I wet the edges of the tree in order to give the distressed appearance. For the nuthatch, I used scissors and trimmed around it. Both images were applied to the cardstock with a glue stick. I sneaked the sets from MFP's a Heinrich Co. Trip to Lancaster and Peaceful Nuthatch that will be released very soon.

Our projects today feature altered post-it note holders. I chose a 3 1/2 x 5" triple acrylic frame that I purchased with my 30% off coupon at Kohls! I used our new Cardinals in Winter stamp set from MFP's. I colored the center image with markers and blender pens and used a sponge for the blue sky. Such fun and reasonable gifts to share with family and friends!

Choose your papers, stamp set and embellies and you're good to go. I used MFP's new set this month called Cardinals in Winter. You can't see in this photo, but there is glitter on the pine boughs on both the jar and the notebook.

Day 8 of Speedy the Cat's 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop

Good morning! My candles are featuring just a couple of the new releases from MFP's. I had never tried this before and I am absolutely thrilled with how it turned out. It is REALLY easy to do. Stamp the image you want on your candle onto tissue paper and color it up (if you desire, but not necessary) with whatever medium you chose. Cut the image out closely...not leaving much extra tissue. Next, lay it on the candle where you want the image. Place a piece of wax paper tightly over the image. Using your heat gun, burnish the image into the candle. You can tell when you're done as you won't see the tissue paper anymore. The wax paper helps to distribute the heat.

For these candles, I used Country Christmas, Country Thanksgiving and Ginger Cookies. All new at MFP's this month.

Today, we are featuring altered jars. I couldn't help but make a Christmas one, a Halloween theme and a beach theme as well! Altered jars are so easy to do...a little measuring and dressing up with some great dp, stamps of choice and you're good to go! For the holiday jar, I used Cardinals in Winter-a brand new set from MFP's this month. The second jar, I used Boo to You and I will be putting candy corn in it! Lastly, the third jar features our set Sand. Surf. Relax.

My card today features the new stamp from DRS Designs vertical triple tree and our small merry Christmas greeting. Also, the red layer was stamped with Vicki's versatile bg and then embossed. The trees were stamped in noir black and embossed with same folder. Edges punched for interest and some sponging around the sentiment (which I cut up). Happy Saturday to everyone! My card today features a portion of a new greeting called Richly Blessed Christmas Greeting and is available for purchase at DRS Designs starting today! The full greeting says, "May you be richly blessed at Christmas and throughout the New Year! I also used their triple tree with snow that I stamped in versamark and embossed in black. Next I stamped the snow background in versamark and embossed with irredescent ice. I brayered with bermuda bay and added a button, lace and the sentiment is stamped, brayered and punched with the modern label punch.

I am loving these new sets! The Country Thanksgiving is darling and the Cardinals in Winter remind me so much of my mom. For the first card, I chose an orange and soft suede theme. Trying to keep the color at a minimum on my image. The cardinal was colored with markers and a blender pen. Unfortunately, the glitter I added to the pine bough didn't photograph well. It is prettier in IRL!

I stamped my image on heather cardstock in burnt umber and then colored in with a combo of watercolors pencils and a blender pen. I put crystal effect on the berries. Added some ribbon tabs and a strip of ribbon to finish off the card.

A weathered Halloween

Happy Day to everyone! My card features DRS Designs new releases: the candy corn wreath and happy halloween greeting. I stamped the wreath in burnt umber on white card stock, colored it and fussy cut it out. I used only orange, lovely lilac and orchid opulence. I stamped the sentiment on a kraft tage and adhered to wreath with orange embroidery thread. For the door, I took a piece of hazelnut tan and swiped the craft white pad back and forth horitzontally. I used the heat gun to set it and then ran soft suede back and forth horizontally to achieve the weathered door look. A star brad used for the door knob. I attempted to add some dimension around the perimeter.

My card today was made for a couple of reasons...it was made for the teapot challenge over on SCS and is on its way to a sweet girl in California going through some hard times. Also, I am submitting it to Dolce Stamps and Cards for their challenge this week and it is distressing. There blog can be found here. I made this using DRS Designs stamps: medium daisy and a portion of the faith open heart greeting. I inked up the Tim Holtz musical score embossing folder with black and ran it through the cuddlebug and then distressed it with the edge of scissor. The black layer was stamped with DRS Designs woven plaid bg stamp in craft white. All edges distressed, did some tearing of paper and sponged some red along the edges. The flower was stamped, colored in ruby red with a blender pen and then added some ruby red hi-lights with the marker...also some white hi-lights and then added some yellow stickles to the center. I do believe that distressed cards are my favorite card to make!

Autumn is Nature's Second Spring...Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge #73 and SCS CAS136

Now this card came together quick!! I made it for two challenges... Speedy the Cat's Friends challenge #73 which was to make a one layer card and SCS CAS 136 which is to use leaves on our creations. It was a no brainer. Gotta love the quick cards! I used the Pumpkin patch kaleidescope ink pad and stamped the leaf repeatedly from the awesome new set at MFP's called Autumn Glory. A touch of sheer ribbon and some rhinestones and it's all good!

Halloween Wishes (Play Date Cafe Color Challenge #98)

My card on this Sunday morning was made for the Play Date Cafe Color challenge #98 which can be found here. Their colors this week are navy, teal and mustard. I am digging making Halloween cards this year and DRS Designs is sponsoring the challenge this week with a $15.00 Gift Certificate!

I started my card by stamping the soon to be released from DRS Designs silhouette cat on moon in versamark and embossing in black. Next, I stamped the starry background in versamark and embossed in clear. I brayered bermuda bay on bottom half and not quite navy from the top and down one corner. I sponged more mustard in for the moon. Halloween Spirits and Booze greeting (which is also soon to be released from DRS Designs) stamped in black and lightly brayered with bermuda bay and not quite navy. I had a leftover piece of more mustard paper that was embossed with lattice ef and layered all the colors on the sentiment. A bit of more mustard ribbon finishes the card off.

Brilliant Fall!

Hi! I made this card for the Card Patterns Sketch Blog #130. Love this sketch. DRS Designs is sponsoring it with a $20 G.C. The submissions close soon, but I think it is fabulous. I used the Cowboy Silhouette, Silhouette Branch and the have a Brilliant Fall! Greeting. The colors I chose are cherry cobbler, more mustard and cameo coral for the SCS CC this week.

It is a Froggie Day!

Happy Saturday to everyone in blogland! I was feeling rather froggie today and DRS Designs has some fabulous stamps that fit rather well!

For my first card here, I chose the Singing Frog, Birthday Sheet Music and Polka Dot background. My paper colors are very vanilla, certainly celery and brocade blue. The froggie was stamped and painted with pearlescent watercolors and then cut out. He's up on dimensionals. I made a bouquet using the brads and some baker's twine (which is hard to see in this photo).

My second card showcases our Frog on a Log. from DRS Designs. Also, I used the Woven Plaid background and Treat for You! Greeting. I stamped the frog and painted with pearlescent watercolors and then cut him out and popped him up on the scallop circle. I made the sun by punching a circle and then free hand cutting the rays and gluing them on. The sun is popped up. Some thin navy ribbon and a button finish this card.

Good afternoon, bloggers! Speedy the Cat's Friends challenge #69 this week is to emboss....it can be dry or heat embossing. I chose to use MFP's set Sand. Surf. Relax. and stamped the main image in versamark and embossed it in black. I colored the image in with sahara sand, river rock, crumb cake and baja breeze. The sentiment was stamped in burnt umber. I used some linen thread and an edge punch. I doodled around the edge and added some mesh...which is difficult to see here........

Okay, I just need to start by saying that I made this card before I saw Julie's post yesterday....I guess we have a golf themed weekend! My husband golfed yesterday and is planning a be in a tournie over Labor Day.

I made this card for Jeff's partner whose birthday is Monday. The Happy Birthday on here is actually the end of a funny sentiment from DRS Designs and the rest is inside, "You're not over the hill, You're on the back nine. Happy Birthday!"...it is called the Back Nine Greeting. I stamped my golfer duff in noir black and colored him with river rock, baja breeze, sahara sand, so saffron, blush blossom and a bit of poppy parade on a blender pen for his cheeks. The sky was done with a scallop circle mask and tempting turqoise and wild wasabi for the grass. The kraft layer was stamped with the lines o' plenty background in wild wasabi. I punched a big circle and embossed it with the Sizzix dot matrix embossing folder to make it resemble a golf ball. Rounded the top corners of the main image and added some so saffron ribbon.

Happy Hump Day to everyone in blogland! I made this card for Speedy the Cat's challenge #68 which can be found here. The challenge this week is to make a distressed card. I made this for a fellow SCSer's husband. He just got out of the hospital.

I distressed all layers with the exception of the card base and then wiped them through the not quite navy inkpad. All papers are from MFP's.

Happy Saturday! Though today is the last day, DRS Designs is sponsoring the Cupcake Inspiration Challenge and I wanted to get this posted as I thought the cupcakes chosen for the inspiration here, were awesome. I had so much fun doing this. It took me 24 hours as I stamped and then doodled with liquid pearls and glitter stickles. As a finishing touch, I added the border. Okay, so I posted it and then realized it closed at noon! Best of intentions!

Good Saturday everyone! I hope it is just what everyone wants!

My card today features the following stamps from DRS Designs: sea grass and faith open heart greeting. I stamped the grass in versamark and embossed it in black. Next, I masked off the sun and the top and bottom in order to brayer on marina mist for the water. Then I masked that off and brayered the sky in this order: apricot appeal and pink passion. I sponged some soft suede for the sand and then masked and brayered on sahara sand. The sun was sponged with daffodil delight. The rest of the greeting is on the inside of the card and is "Faith is opening your heart and closing your eyes." I added some white gel pen accents to the grass and water.

Wow, second day of our blog hop! Good luck and I hope you're lucky!

My card today was stamped in noir black and painted with pearlescent watercolors. The background was sponged in with baja breeze as was the sentiment. The butterflies were stamped and painted with pearlescent watercolors as well and cut out. A spiral notebook punch was used on the dp from Making Memories called Just Chillin'..lastly, I added some embroidery thread along the punched edged of the dp. Hi there Bloggers!

Can you believe it is August already? Our set featured today is fabulous and I had fun making this card. I just wish the brown glitter I used in the center of the flowers had photographed better. I colored the flowers with crushed curry and peach parfait and the stems with wild wasabi. The butterfly was painted with pearlescent watercolors. The dp is from Cosmo Cricket's Mini Deck and is called Social club-it can be purchased at MFP's. A bit of hardware, brads and some ribbon finish it off!

A doggie dilemma

I decided to make a birthday card to celebrate my birthday yesterday!!! This pooch makes me happy and can be found at the DRS Designs online store here. I used DRS Designs doggie dilemma dog with fence, have a pawsitively birthday greeting and the dog paw background. I used soft sky and a scalloped circle to make the clouds. The image was also colored with old olive, crumb cake, close to cocoa and soft suede.The background strips were stamped in burnt umber. I took a piece of twill tape that came on my daughter's new bath wrap and inked it up with close to cocoa and frayed the edges. Stamped a couple of extra paws and punched out with a circle punch. I cut the sentiment up and it is on dimensionals.

Another beautiful set released by MFP's! Faith really knows what is "in". This set reminds me so much of my sister Shelley. She loves nothing more than to sit in her garden and read. I used BG's marjolaine dp for this beautiful set. Some lace, 3 antique brads and the sentiment was stamped and punched out in an oval.

Isn't this set, Lilacs in the Summer fabulous??? I made it for MFP's blog hop. These sets are available to purchase here. I stamped the main image in noir black and used my trusty ole' pearlescent watercolors to color it. Next, I sponged on some baja breeze. The designer paper is from Basic Gray but I don't know from what packs. I added some lace, a polka dot brad, an edge punch, rounded the corners and placed everything on dimensionals. Once the card was all assembled, I added liquid pearls to the flowers and then as some half pearls elsewhere.

My card today features our new set at MFP's called Planted with Love. I stamped the main image in black and used pearlescent watercolors to jazz it up. I thought the main image went quite nicely with the Out of Print dp I just got from MFP's. I added a big flower pretty and twine which can also be purchased from MFP's. The sentiment was stamped in burnt umber and I used a couple oval punches. Though hard to see, there are some teal rhinestones on three corners of the brown dp. Good luck in the hop!

I stamped my image from the sweet set over at MFP's called Little Birds with Big Mouths in black and colored in with apricot appeal, barely banana, gray, baja breeze, blushing bride and old olive. Though you can't tell, I paper pieced the flowers at the bottom of the birdhouse. I used Sweet fairies dp from Primas which can be found at MFP's. The main image was punched out with a circle punch and matted on the scallop punched dp. The buttons are bluish/gray but the color didn't photograph well. The sentiment was stamped in black, edge in black and layered on the dp using tag punches. I used embroidery thread on the buttons and some apricot appeal ribbon.

Okay, I can't tell a lie. I made this card for Speedy's challenge and now I go to upload it, only to find that the die cut IS supposed to be a background mat. So, I am uploading anyway as that is what I had intended until my homemade die cut didn't look right..........and then I used the watering can as my die cut...from a sheet of die cuts that I don't know where I got them:) My baja breeze that is punched was originally going all the way around the main image, but it didn't look too good. My dp is from MFP's and is Bo Bunny's Seaside. I dressed up my watering can with the edge of the sunflower from this awesome set-Planted with Love from MFP's and it will be available early next week.

Summertime!

As I sit here and write this, it is monsooning outside of my house! A couple trees came down in the neighborhood. This is unlike Colorado! My card today made me feel warm and happy and I was able to pretend that there was sunshine outside!
I stamped DRS Designs flip flops in black and colored in with blushing bride, orchid opulence, melon mambo and pear pizazz...I stamped the flower, colored it, cut out, popped up and then put crystal effects on it once the card was complete. The Cool Summertime greeting was stamped in noir black and mounted on melon mambo. Come on over to DRS Designs and have some fun with our new releases!

Hooray! The first Saturday in July! Summers are a time of relaxation, fun and lots of butterflies. I love butterflies. They make me think of my mom! Wonderful memories. My card today features DRS Designs feather background image and the silhouette believe butterfly. Fairly simple card but I am happy with the outcome! I randomly stamped the feather in noir black. Next, I stamped the butterfly in versamark and embossed it in black. I used the spiral punch, some embroidery thread and some ribbon to finish the card off. I used white, pear pizazz and gray white core cardstock.

The WT challenge on SCS today is to use something old and something new. My old is the vintage violet card base and the new is the Magnolia Wedding stamp set from MFP's.........luvvvvv it!

I stamped the magnolia in burnt umber and used pearlescent watercolors-then I cut it out. The flourish around the sentiment is from a hummingbird stamp that a friend gave me.

My card today uses the large strawberries and the I love you! greeting. I stamped the strawberries randomly in noir black and used an aqua painter to pick up wild wasabi for the leaves. The strawberries and flowers were done with pearlescent watercolors. A fancy edge punch, ribbon and buttons for the embellies. I stamped the brushed beach sunrise in noir black and used sponges to apply the tempting turqoise for the water and baja breeze for the sky. Also, I used crused curry for the sun, river rock for the mountains and wild wasabi and close to cocoa for the palm tree. The beer mug was stamped in versamark and embossed in black and then cut out. I used a versamarker and then embossed some beer in copper. The beer foam is white pearl liquid pearls....lastly, the beer mug was popped up as was the sentiment. A few brads added and I'm ready to go have a cold one!

Morning! This set is wonderful! I paired it with BG's Granola dp. I stamped the shell on hazelnut tan, cut it out and covered with crystal effects (I was done for the night as it had to dry). Using twill tape, I stamped some smaller shells in burnt umber onto it. Three faux brads as a finishing touch. The sentiment is on dimensionals.

Oh Happy Day! The poppies in my neighborhood are in bloom! I need to plant some for next year. Love this set and talk about versatile. I can't wait to try some more fun things with it. I did a combination of things here. I randomly stamped the poppies with noir black and then watercolored with red riding hood and pear pizazz. Next, I got out my fav pearlescent watercolors and "riched" up the poppies. Sponged some black lightly around the flowers. Added some pearls and voila! I do believe that this is my new fav set!

My card today uses MFP's brand new set, available today, All Aboard. I did a combo of watercoloring and using markers. The dp is Reflections by Prima available at MFP's and so is the lace.

Here is a sneak peek of a new set from MFP's called Sand. Surf. Relax and if I do say so myself, it is awesome! So much to be done with it. I randomly stamped the different shells in burnt umber and used pearlescent watercolors to give them color. Added some random dots and some sahara sand sponged on for the sand. Prima's Madeline dp used, half pearls and some gorgeous lace from MFP's. This was made for the technique challenge over on SCS today which was to decorate the envie.

Good day.............with all the graduation parties we have to go to, this is sure a good sentiment! This card was made using Card patterns sketch #117 which can be found here. DRS Designs is their sponsor and will be giving away a $20 gift certificate to a randomly chosen participant. You have until Friday, June 3rd at 11:59 PM EST to upload. For this card I used DRS Designs five o'clock somewhere greeting and their brush beach sunrise. I stamped the image and colored with pearlescent watercolors. Scalloped circle punches to layer and I made my own tag. This was quick to come together.

Good day all! My card today used the sentiment at DRS Designs Save the Drama for your Mama! Also, I used their fun flip flops.

My ink colors: daffodil delight, orchid opulence, pixie pink, antique linen sponged for sand.

Papers: white, pixie pink, lovely lilac, black

Accessories: primas, liquid pearls, label punch, dimensionals, twine

This sentiment reminds me of my girls....16 and 20 years of age. I wish they'd save the drama for someone else!

My card today was made for the SCS ways to use it challenge to incorporate music into our creations. This is a fabulous new stamp from DRS Designs called Birthday Sheet Music. I think it will be so versatile for a guy or girl. The tiny happy belated birthday sentiment is also from DRS Designs.

Paper: hazelnut tan, white, black

Ink: antique linen, black

Accessories: half pearls, giant prima, button, embroidery thread, ribbon, lace

My card today is for a couple of challenges. SCS technique challenge TLC325 to make paper buttons. My balloon is a paper button. And the other challenge is for the 365 Cards blog...which is a sketch keeping some white space. Go check it out and participate....too cool and DRS Designs will be giving out a $15 voucher at the end of the week. I used the following fun stamps from DRS Designs: the singing frog, four flower background, vertical thinking of you sentiment and the ladybug background. I used white, pear pizazz and black papers, corner rounder scissors. For the button, I punched the flower 5 times, glued together and put CE on it and let dry about 1/2 hour. Dusy durango ribbon and inks: black, dustry durango, wild wasabi, soft sky and daffodil delight.

Speedy's Challenge #55

The challenge from Speedy the cat is to use monochromatic blues on our creations. I went for quick and simple with this one! I used MFP's new release, Here comes the Grad and stamped in paicific point. Stamped the tassel in pacific point, cut out, layed on pp cardstock and popped up on dimensionals. Used pp ribbon, too and snipped off each corner. Took about 5 minutes to make. I need to make loads, so the simpler, the better!

Good Saturday morning!

I have to say that I am stuck on this fun, medium daisy bloom over at DRS. I also used the background branch and I love you greeting. I used pearlescent watercolors on leaves and daisy. Paper pieced the daisy and some of the leaves. Next, I stamped the three butterflies, painted with the pearlescent watercolors, cut out and popped up. Stamped the sentiment and punched out with modern label punch, used some lace and a cute daisy charm (which was difficult to photograph). Lastly, the green layer is embossed with leaf folder that looks very similar to the stamped image. Thanks for taking a peek today!

My card today used the wonderful, patriotic set called American Made. I used not quite navy, real red and white papers. With matching inks. The sentiment was stamped was stamped in versamark and white embossed. Ribbon and a star glittered embellie. Lady liberty was cut out and layered on coordinating papers and is up on dimensionals.

This set is so awesome. It is really special to me as it reminds me of my dad's old Ford pickup. So many memories of my dad and his old truck. He is gone now and this set surely makes me think of some happy times. I tried to capture it here and think I did a good job. I may send this to one of my sisters.........they will appreciate it.

I stamped my image in burnt umber and used prisma color pencils and goo-gone to blend. My papers are all from MFP's: black, vanilla, hazelnut tan and my dp is Cosmo Cricket's Wanted. I used three giant eyelets and some awesome twine from MFP's. The sentiment was hard to photograph, but I used the tire track with burnt umber stamped off and then stamped the sentiment over it. I weathered all the edges.

Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge #53

Happy Monday! My card today is for Speedy the Cat's Challenge which can be found here. I used MFP's American Made which will be released tomorrow. The Speedy's challenge is to use only paper and ink....no embellishments. I stamped the eagle in versamark and embossed with silver. He is such a regal fellow!

It's gonna be a bright, bright, sun shiny day!!!!! Colorado weather is awesome! We are so lucky. To celebrate the wonderful weather and getting to plant this weekend, I decided to go bold! I used DRS Designs new releases: polka dot background, medium daisy bloom, the happy bee and the Bee Well sentiment.

First, I stamped the daisies on vanilla card stock. I cut two out and paper pieced them a bit off kilter. Colored with only orange and pink pirouette. Yellow chunky glitter used for flower centers. The polka dot background was stamped in noir black as was the sentiment.

Papers: vanilla, pink pirouette, bright orange, black.

I hope all the mom's out in blogland have a terrific mother's day!

SCS color challenge: cherry cobbler, crumb cake, black

Happy Tuesday. I hope everyone is experiencing some nice, Spring weather. I am about to go out and walk my pooches. The color challenge on SCS today is a pretty one. Cherry cobbler, kraft or crumb cake, black and I used white as my neutral. The dessert option is sparkly stuff.

My father's day card was made using a sneak peek from MFP's called Big Boy Toys. Isn't it awesome? I stamped the image in black and colored in with pear pizazz, cherry cobbler and dabbed on some soft sky for the sky. I painted champagne shimmers over the greenery. Raised image on dimensionals and added the photo corners. Embossed red layer and little photo corner...some rope for interest.

My second card uses another sneak peek from MFP's called American Made. Lady Liberty is awesome. Embossed card base with star embossing folder, punched out a few stars, added some black twine and for sparkle (that doesn't show) I used black rhinestones. Sentiment stamped and punched out in an oval and layered.....
